Tony received a B.A. degree in Zoology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He currently works as an Aquatic Biologist for the State of Hawaii, Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Aquatic Resources. His interests include deep water corals as well as tropical deep coral reef ecology. He has studied antipatharians extensively and recently finished an in depth study on the Hawaiian black coral fishery. He has logged more than 100 hours on the Inspiration closed-circuit rebreather and has used mixed gas to conduct scientific research for the past few years.
