Amy earned her B.A. in German with a minor in Naval Science from Miami University of Ohio and is pursuing her Masters Degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University. She is a veteran of the first Gulf War and has a total of eight years active and reserve service as a commissioned Naval officer. Amy is qualified as open ocean Officer of the Deck on a 700 foot naval vessel. She is a certified private pilot (single engine land) and is a member of the Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots. Amy is also an IANTD Advanced Nitrox Instructor and technical rebreather supervisor with more than 100 hours on 4 different types of rebreathers. She has edited several diving manuals and contributed significantly to the FUNdamental series of underwater training videos. Aside from her volunteer community work, she manages a diving and salvage firm and is a licensed real estate Salesperson in the state of California.
